May Technical Seminar for Members

Topic: ‘Measuring Soil Vapour using a New Method: Headspace in VOC Vials’

Presenter:   Adrian Heggie, WSP

Adrian Heggie will present on a novel method of soil sampling that detects volatile hydrocarbons where conventional soil sampling (soil in jars with purge and trap analysis) often fails to detect VOCs.  The new sampling method has a second important function – to provide an inexpensive and easy, quick way to quantify soil vapour concentrations, providing an effective alternative to active and passive soil vapour sampling methods.
