2017 Annual General Meeting

Members are advised that the ACLCA NSW Annual General Meeting is being held on Wednesday 25th October 2017. AECOM has once again very kindly offered to host the meeting and their offices are located at 420 George Street, Sydney.  AECOM staff will meet attendees in the lobby and escort them to the meeting room on Level 21.  

Happy half-hour drinks begin at 5.30 pm, and the AGM will begin at 6.00 pm.  

As well as the AGM matters, we have organised the following presentations:

Rachael Casson: Design and Implementation of a PFAS Plant Uptake Study, RAAF Base Williamtown

Scott Robinson: California Low Threat Closure Policy – Application in Australia on LNAPL Sites

The Executive Committee would like to encourage all member companies to have at least one representative at the AGM. In order to streamline the voting process at the AGM, the Committee has asked that all companies nominate one person who will be attending the AGM as being the company representative, and who will therefore have voting rights for the company.  Please advise via email who your company representative will be.

ACLCA NSW NEEDS YOU!!!!

All associations need committed volunteers to keep them functioning.  ACLCA is seen as the leading body representing contaminated land consultants in Australia, and as such, carries out a very important role in the industry.  Amongst other things, it provides valuable technical and site safety training to it's members at subsidised rates.   It also provides a collective voice for consultants to comment on various issues to relevant regulatory bodies. 

We are seeking nominees for the Executive Committee.  Nominees are generally expected to:

- be keen and have regular involvement with ACLCA NSW activities including attending and facilitating hosting of monthly seminars;

- be able to devote sufficient time to committee activities to further ACLCA interests; and

- not have any conflicts of interest which would affect their ability to represent the interests of member companies in accordance with the ACLCA constitution.

All positions on the Executive Committee are up for re-election at every AGM and we are therefore calling for nominations for all positions. 

Committee positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and 3 non-executive committee members.  If you are interested in a role on the committee and would like further information, please find information here about Committee positions and responsibilities.

For your information, the following current members of the Executive Committee are seeking re-election in these positions:-

Amy Valentine - President

Eleanor Liddle - Vice President

Tim Chambers - Treasurer

Nik Kontos - non-executive committee member

Lesley Limage - non-executive committee member

ACLCA NSW would also like to take this opportunity to thank two of our Executive Committee members for their valuable contribution to our Association.  Andre Smit (GHD) joined the Executive Committee in 2011 and has held the positions of Treasurer, Vice President, President and non-executive member over the past 6 years.  David Virtue (Prensa) joined the Executive Committee in 2014 and has held the position of non-executive member and Vice President before resigning his position with an ACLCA NSW member company, and therefore his position on the Committee.  On behalf of the Executive Committee and members I’d like to thank both of them for the many hours they've dedicated to the Association over the years.

If you would like to nominate someone (please talk to them first to confirm they will accept the nomination) for any of these positions, you can do so by email.  Don't forget you need a proposer and seconder for the nomination.  Please get nominations to me ASAP.
