The ACLCA NSW 2022 technical seminar series continues this month with our next presentation on Wednesday 31st August.
As with all of our technical seminars, this is being run as an in-person event and also an online webinar via MS TEAMS.
The sustainable management of excess soil generated during infrastructure projects - Jessica Hannaford, GHD.
Regulations and guidelines associated with the management of excess soil generated during infrastructure projects can still be prohibitive towards reuse. The future will see a greater emphasis on more sustainable options for the management of excess soils, with reuse being a priority option. The aim of current regulatory frameworks is to provide clear and consistent direction to both generators and receivers of excess soils. While regulations surrounding the management of excess soil do include priority given to beneficial reuse, the reality is that beneficial reuse options are sometimes the most difficult and costly option to implement. With respect to emerging contaminants (including our friend PFAS), this difficulty is even further heightened.
How can we ensure more sustainable outcomes?
Jessica is a Technical Director with the Contamination and Environmental Management team with 22 years’ experience with contaminated sites. She is also the Technical Services Leader for Sydney, which sees her responsible for championing technical excellence across all of GHD service offerings. Contamination will always be her first love.
5.30pm drinks and nibbles, 6.00pm presentations begin
GHD – Level 15, 133 Castlereagh Street, Sydney. GHD staff will arrange access to their office from the lobby.
