ACLCA NSW is pleased to continue our new monthly webinar series for members with the following 2 presentations:
“Updates to the Guidelines for Consultants Reporting on Contaminated Sites” - Ruth Madden and Drew Morgan, GHD
Ruth and Drew were part of the team that prepared the updated guidelines for Consultants Reporting on Contaminated Sites. The project team consisted of Drew as project manager, Andre Smit as project director, Ruth who was involved in drafting the guidelines and advice and input from technical directors Andrew Kohlrusch and Ian Gregson. The presentation will discuss the process involved with undertaking this assignment including and will present the key components of the new guidelines, highlighting the key changes.
"What’s in My TRH Soup?” - Ken Kiefer, ERM.
Total Recoverable Hydrocarbons (TRH) are a complex chemical mixture which in ASC NEPM consistent laboratory methods can include petroleum hydrocarbons, petroleum hydrocarbon degradation by-products, naturally occurring biogenic compounds, and other non-petroleum hydrocarbons found at contaminated sites (e.g. chlorinated solvents). This presentation provides an overview on the complex mixture of TRH and the presence of non-petroleum hydrocarbons that can have implications contaminated site management. The session also provides case studies to illustrate the importance of understanding site-specific TRH mixtures prior to, during and after remediation.
