ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP
Who should attend:
This module will target recent graduates and professionals new to the contaminated land industry.
Objective:
The objective of this module is to provide an updated and overall introduction to the key elements of Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), What is a Phase 1 Assessment? Why are Phase 1 assessments so important? How a good Phase 1 sets up a good Phase 2. How can a Conceptual Site Model add value to your understanding of a site?
At the end of the session your staff should:
Gain an understanding of the importance of a desktop study, the range of information available and review methods, and how to apply this to develop an understanding of site history, potential
contamination sources and presence of contamination at a site. We will also touch on the preparation of Conceptual Site Models and how they assist the understanding of environmental risks at a site.
The session will include ‘working in small groups’ practical exercises and direct examples.
