An Introduction to the Geology of Melbourne
ACLCA Victoria is pleased to welcome Michael Webster (Golder Associates) to present on the various geological units found in and around Melbourne.
With several large scale infrastructure projects underway across Melbourne, there is a great opportunity to improve on the current understanding of the geological evolution of our city. Michael will provide an overview into the various geological units that are found in an around Melbourne, highlighting their different geological histories and properties. He will briefly touch upon some of the geological considerations which may better inform hydrogeological interpretations within the Melbourne region, emphasising the profound effect geological history has on the region as we find it today.
About the Presenter:
Michael Webster has been an engineering geologist with Golder Associates for nine years. He has undergraduate degrees from Monash University in engineering and science, majoring in geotechnics and geology respectively. He also holds a masters degree from Imperial College London in engineering geology.
