ACLCA Victoria together with EIANZ VIC Students and Early Careers sub-committee is pleased to launch the Career Insights Panel Event.
The event will host a group of inspiring environmental professionals to speak about their career path. In this event we will explore the roles of these professionals, learn how they found their niche, ask about exciting projects they have worked on and learn about their experiences in both client facing and government roles.
The event is an opportunity for students and young professionals to consider what skills they need to build a career in the environmental sector and broaden their thinking on possible roles they can pursue in the field.
Our invited speakers include:
Caroline Coop (Environmental Earth Sciences) – An environmental scientist at Environmental Earth Sciences (EES) since January 2018, starting as a graduate. Caroline has diverse range of field experience, investigation soil, groundwater and soil vapour assessments. Most recently she has been involved in a large soil-asbestos remediation project.
Dr Ella Kelly (DELWP) – Ella finished her PhD in Conservation Biology at the University of Melbourne in 2018. She now works as a Threatened Species Policy Officer at the Victorian Government’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, where she develops strategies for better decision making in endangered species management and helps implement them for some of Victoria’s most threatened species.
Dr Molly Hoak (Senversa) – A graduate risk assessor at Senversa with ~2-years’ experience in the contaminated land industry. Molly has recently completed a PhD in environmental toxicology with the Centre for Aquatic Pollution Identification and Management. She also has previous industry experience with the EPA researching ambient PFAS concentrations in water, soil and sediment.
Meg Turner (GHD) – Meg graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Science from RMIT University in 2018 and commenced a graduate role with GHD in the Air, Noise and Meteorology team. During her graduate role Meg has been involved in environmental compliance, impact assessment and air dispersion modelling for a wide range of industries including wastewater services, extractive industries, agriculture and waste handling.
