Respirable crystalline silica (RCS) exposure monitoring at drill sites.
The presentation will include a summary of the results from recent Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) monitoring conducted at several ACLCA member drill sites. There will be a discussion of the adopted monitoring methodologies, details of the drilled geology and potential RCS routes of exposure. The RCS data will be considered in the context of workplace exposure standards and compliance with applicable regulations. The presentation will conclude on risk to workers and offer recommendations for the implementation of mitigating controls and further investigations.

Elaine Feeney (Managing Consultant at Prensa Pty Ltd)
Elaine has worked in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) for the past 10 years. As a managing consultant, Elaine has a team of HSE consultants who predominately consult in the areas of occupational hygiene, mould and hazardous materials. Interesting projects that Elaine’s has been involved with include supporting Department of Education and Universities with managing the risks and control associated with COVID-19, upgrade of Flinders Street Station and supporting loss adjusters with managing works associated with extensive flooding in Victoria in October 2022.
Ruebendraa Kantahrao (Helia EHS)
Rueben is an Environmental Consultant, and is part of the EHOH (Environmental, Health and Occupational Hygiene) division of Helia. With 5 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field, he has worked in both private and commercial capacities within the Mining, Chemical Manufacturing and Health industries, in both national and local capacities.
Rueben's expertise lies in providing consulting services in contaminated land management and Occupational hygiene services, with a particular focus on RCS Exposure Assessment, Indoor Air Quality Assessment, Mould Investigations, OHS Risk Assessments, SDS Management, Asbestos Remediation/Assessment, Potable and Ground Water Sampling, and Waste Categorisation.
Throughout his career, Rueben has worked on various major projects, including the Bushfire Recovery Program, Council Coastline Remediation, Secondments in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry, and a National Asbestos Auditing program for a major Telecom provider.
