Young Professionals Seminar Presentation Opportunity - Finalists Announced

The ACLCA YP Seminar Presentation was held on Wednesday 29 July 2020 online via Zoom. We had a fantastic attendance of over 85 members and great feedback from those who attended the event. The following comments are just some of the wonderful feedback received post event:

"What an excellent event tonight – a range of interesting topics and presentation styles, and consultant experience - they were all interesting and relevant and the online tech worked well. The judges will have some difficult choices."

"Our presenters have highlighted again the great variety of projects we find ourselves involved with as an industry and the high standards we set for ourselves as we seek to resolve very tricky problems. I do hope we can put a recording on the website!"

"I know I was clapping (mutedly) at my screen after the presentations, and I noticed the attendance was very steady through the event (a sure sign of ongoing interest!) – I hope the presenters feel our collective appreciation for their efforts!"

ACLCA Victoria would like to thank the five Young Professional presenters who had the courage to present in front of their colleagues and peers. We appreciate the time taken to prepare the presentations and wish you all the very best as you progress your young careers!

Presenters  included:

  • Temma Carruthers-Taylor, EESIDevelopment of a conceptual site model and application of matrix diffusion toolkit in a fractured basalt system, Ballan, Victoria.

A special thanks to the CPD FA Committee who organised the event. In particular, Stephanie Stone (EESI) and Clinton Smiljanic (ACLCA CPD FA Chair) who chaired the event. Thank-you as well to our judging panel Ben Coughlan (GHD/ACLCA President), Matthew Currell (RMIT, Associate Professor: School of Engineering) and Adam Grant (ALS, Manager Strategic Relations and Development) and finally, to William McCance (Bluesphere Environmental) for technical control - without them, this wonderful event would not be possible!

Thank-you to our sponsors ALS & Lotsearch for supporting our Young Professionals!

Lastly, thanks to all our wonderful members that attended the presentations.

We now look forward to Claire presenting at EcoForum on Friday 18 September 2020.
